Absolut Vodka Ad

It was a painful time for Mexicans? Maybe the US should have taken the whole country. Then they would be like the American Indians are now. The US would have a small border monitor and almost no illegal immigration. What would an ad in Russia be like, or Germany? Hardly think it would have the same tone. Don't they realize how small the world is? Funny, I thought only the US had no sense when it comes to international affairs.

I am not even sure they got the map right. It would take some research, but it looks a little too far north and maybe leaving some southern parts out too. Yes they have leeway and can use some artist interpretation. Fair enough, now prepare for the reaction. That's what they wanted, a reaction.

Ads are suppose to make us buy things. Yes, ads are targeted to their audience. Maybe this one worked in Mexico. With a small side effect. In a few years we will forget this just like everything else. When will it be different? I can not boycott, I don't drink it and never will. Now every time I see a bottle hopefully I will remember that ad.

What about the side effects of their 'Absolut World'? Strange that it was not written in Spanish. If the borders remained the same then no Silicon Valley, Disney Land and the Mexicans would be illegally immigrating into Canada.

Not meant to insult Americans? I should research the history of the borders of Sweden. Wonder what that will turn up. I guess the US always have to tolerate everyone else. None have to tolerate the US. The US has to watch every other country's feelings. None have to care about it.

How long was there really a Mexico anyway? What about Spain? Have they forgotten that 'Texas' left Mexico years before on their own accord? Maybe more of Mexico would breakaway even if we did not take it. What about Native Americans in those territories prior to Mexico? Each country chooses the history taught in schools. History is now relative and convenient.

Mexicans think the US stole it? We took it. If you want the land back, try and take it. If not, shut up and accept it. Don’t cry over spilt milk. Stop making excuses. Don't just ooze into another country. Be men. Proud of your country? Fix it. Don’t bring us down to your level. You are diluting us.
